Scale To .....

This command, with its various options, allows you to choose what scale you want to work with on screen and for printouts. Garment Designer works on a WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) principle. This means that the scale you see on the screen is the scale in which a pattern/schematic will print.

There are various options:

Actual Size

This options presents the image on the screen in actual size. Use this to magnify points for precise movement, etc. This is also the mode you must move into in order to print a full scale pattern. When you print with actual size, Garment Designer will print a series of numbered 8.5 x 11 inch pages. The pages have crop marks and a numbering sequence which will facilitate the pasting together process. The printed pattern may be used for the following:

1/2, 1/3, 1/4. 1/6, 1/8, 1/10 Scale

These are additional scale modes you may use to control the actual size of your pattern as you work. Dependent upon the zoom factor and the resolution of your monitor, you will be able to see points, dimensions, counts, etc., more clearly. Pages will tile, as necessary in printing to create the desired scale.

2X, 3X, 4X Scale

These scale modes allow you to scale the pattern to 2X, 3X and 4X the actual size. This is often helpful when viewing small sizes such as Infants and Dolls.
